Brazil's iron oil exports to
China in March rose to 12.1 million mt, 4% above the 11.6 million mt exported to
that country in March 2013, Secex, Brazil's foreign trade secretary, said in
data released Wednesday.
The exports had a total value of US$1.07 billion FOB, down 13% from $1.2 billion
a year ago.
China bought half of Brazil's total iron ore exports last month and March
exports to China were 1% higher than February's export total of 11.9 million mt.
South Korea was the
second-largest buyer of Brazilian iron ore in March, accounting for 1.6 million
mt, more than twice the 754,637 mt it bought in March 2013.
Sales revenue from South Korea increased 101% last month, to $163.2 million FOB,
from $81.1 million FOB one year ago.
March exports to South Korea also were 84% above February's 882,372 mt.
