On August 6, Baosteel announced that its affiliate Baosteel Chemical will jointly cooperate with Fangda Carbon to establish Baofang Carbon Materials Technology Co.,Ltd. The JV will be able to produce 0.1 million tons of super high efficiency graphite electrode per year. The investment will be 1.3 billion RMB, with 51:49 input from Baosteel Chemical and Fangda Carbon.
It is said that the JV will be located in economic technological area in PingAn Town, Honggu District, Lanzhou City, Gansu Province. The construction will kick off in 2018 and will be completely finished by 2020.
