It was reported that senior ministers in the UK have agreed to work towards a Brexit deal with the EU by the end of November.
The British government was expected to decide this week whether the country will accept the plan, as well as whether the EU will hold a special Brexit summit in November.
Separately, the Brexit department said it had made good progress on a deal with the EU on post-Brexit financial services, but negotiations were under way and no agreement has been reached in any area until agreement was reached on all issues.
