The
reform and opening up of China since 1970s has changed the country as well
as the whole world to a large extent. As a pillar industry of the national
economy, the advancements of the iron and steel industry in China are
central to those changes and provide forceful momentum for further
development. In 2018, China has realized noticeable accomplishments in
coping with overcapacity issues in iron and steel industry and accumulated
fruitful experience to face with upcoming challenges. In 2019, China will
more firmly carry on the supply-side structural reform in the iron and
