In 2016-2017, Jiangxi province totally closed down 295 coal mines and eliminated 18.86 million tons of capacity, completing its goal of coal mine closure put forward by the 13th Five-Year Plan.
In 2018, Jiangxi province continues to facilitate the work of capacity reduction in coal industry. Jiangxi aims to shut down 50 coal mines and phase out 2.57 million tons of capacity. Of this, it is stipulated to shut down 49 coal mines with production capacity of 90,000 tons per year or less.
