According to the leading team which is in charge of eliminating overcapacity, in 2018, Henan province totally closed down 24 coal mines and phased out 8.25 million tons of capacity. As such, the whole province completed the target of capacity reduction in coal industry for 2018.
Ever since the commencement of capacity reduction work in 2016, Henan province has been dedicated to eradicating overcapacity and transforming industrial structure. A total of 225 coal mines were shut down, reducing 52.25 million tons of capacity.
In the past three years, Henan province has further enhanced industrial concentration and optimized the structure of coal industry. It closed down those coal mines which were under poor conditions of exploitation.
