Since this year 2018, Maanshan Steel has carried out new production processing of rebar. They decide to use niobium to replace vanadium on the basis of keeping “ching” characteristic of rebar.
According to new processing, Maanshan Steel produced 0.13 million tons rebar contained niobium. Through this way, the company increased 5 million yuan profit.
Vanadium nitrogen is an expensive rare alloy. Especially this year, its price is soaring, which puts the pressure to HRB400 and HRB500 rebars production cost.
While Maanshan Steel closely concerns the price trend of vanadium nitrogen and ferroniobium alloys in order to actively look for the cut-in point to reduce the cost of alloy materials.
