It was reported on 10 December 2018 that signing ceremony between CISDI Group and GFG Group was held in Wyala, Australia for new mill construction with 10 million tons steel capacity.
CISDI is one of the core subsidiaries of MCC under China Minmetals, the Fortune Global 500. CISDI as an international engineering service provider commits to research and development of application technology, total solutions, consulting, engineering, EP- and EPC-based contracting, engineering consulting and operations management.
As for GFG Alliance, it is a diversified multinational group integrating finance, energy, resources, metals and manufacturing.
Zhang Mengxing, the Chairman with MCC, pointed out that the project would not only enhance the production capacity of local iron ore smelting in Wyala, but also promote a large number of jobs, promote local taxes, provide development opportunities for supporting production and living in the surrounding areas, and stimulate local economic growth. In addition, it will make great difference on the global steel industry.
Sanjeev Gupta, CEO with GFG, expressed that he was confidence about steel manufacture base under the support of MCC.
