Tangshan City, Hebei Province, is a city famous for its steel industry. It was reported on 25 December 2018 that Tangshan City, dissolved 5.0025 million tons steelmaking capacity, 2.98 million tons iron making capacity, 1.85 million tons coke capacity and 2.01 coal capacity in the year 2018.
There are some positive effects after capacity dissolution. For example, data showed that as of 22 December 2018, PM2.5 concentration was 60ug/m3, down 7.69%.
Apart from dissolving capacity, Tangshan devotes to optimize the layout of iron and steel industry, promote the layout of iron and steel heavy chemical enterprises and move 13 iron and steel enterprises around the main urban area, including Tangshan Steel.
