It was reported on 28 January 2019 that China HBIS Group signed certain agreement with Tata Steel, both belonging to Global Top 500 in steel industry.
The agreement pointed out that HBIS Group would pay for acquisition of Tata Steel 70% shares in Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam and Malaysia areas.
The project will rely on the platform support of the two major groups, HBIS Group and Tata Steel in channel, technology and management, and tap into the development potential and efficiency of existing assets to better serve the Southeast Asia regional steel market.
