With the construction of “the Belt and Road” initiative, in 2018, the volume of imports and exports totaled 13.1428 million tons at Erenhot Railway Port, rising 15.5% on year. Of this, the volume of imports reached 11.8066 million tons and that of exports reached 1.3362 million tons.
In 2018, iron ore imports totaled 4.6963 million tons and coal imports stood at 1.7877 million tons.
