In 2018, Japan’s H-Beam exports registered about 230,000 tons with an improvement from a year ago. However, the export quantities expanded slightly, looking fixed at under 300,000 tons level for a two-year earlier weakness on streak.
According to the trade statistics released by the Ministry of Treasury recently, Japan’s H-Beam exports decreased 42.2 percent in December last year month on month, or 23.4 percent down year on year both, amounting to 12,900 tons. That said, on the collective basis through December, last year, the export quantities increased 2.6 percent to roughly 230,000 tons. Japan’s yearly export of H-Beam continued decrease over the recent years latest, i.e. 435,000 tons in 2010 to 311,000 tons in 2016 and 224,000 tons in 2017 when the record low registered.
Meanwhile, Japan’s H-Beam import in December last year plummeted 49.2 percent from the prior month to 4,700 tons, or down 34.6 percent a year ago respectively. The cumulative import of H-Beam last year waned 4.7 percent totaling around 96,000 tons.
