Last year, Korea’s export of aluminum fabricated products turned out to decrease 11 percent, from 510,327 metric tons to 454,076 metric tons, according to the Korea Statistics Service. The decrease was distinct in export of aluminum flat sheet and strips.
Aluminum sheet and strip exports totaled 289,027 metric tons last year, down 12.3 percent from 446,608 metric tons, while aluminum foil exports inched down 0.4 percent from 44,057 metric tons to 43,895 metric tons respectively.
On the contrary, aluminum pipe and bar exports were 16,637 metric tons, higher as much as 7.7 percent from 15,449 metric tons a year ago, while aluminum wire exports improved 7.2 percent from 4,214 metric tons to 4,517 metric tons respectively.
Meanwhile, aluminum fabricated product scope in total improved 5.7 percent year on year in their exports totaling 1,260,891 metric tons, of which the deepest decline in exports occurred to aluminum wire products, which were produced in 41,509 metric tons last year, down 28.3 percent a year ago.
