The CEO of Danieli Group and its ABS, Alessandro Trivillin, said on Tuesday that ABS began to build a new rolling mill in Cargnacco near Udine, which cost around 200 million euros. The plant will begin the quality and production testing in February next year and will reach full production by 2021. With this new production line, the annual production capacity of ABS will also increase from 1.2 million tons to 1.6 million.
The restart of the ABS Sisak in Croatia and the internal restructuring of the EWS pipe plant (now completed) have resulted in a stable turnover of the manufacturing operations of the Danieli plant last year, and the steel business sector increased by 34% to 991 million euros.
During the nearly 12 months ended June 30th, the steel business unit sold a total of 1.3 million tons of steel roughly, a 20% year-on-year increase.
