According to the reports, Uganda planned to build a new steel mill in South Western.
Yoweri Museveni, the President of Uganda, had a meeting with the Chairman of Devki Group of Companies, Mr. Narendra Raval, taking about the new steel mill project at Muko in Kabale District in South Western Uganda.
Devki Group owned diverse business including producing of steel, roofing sheets, cement and providing aviation services. Devki Group built a Simba Cement Factory in Tororo in Eastern Uganda which helped to reduce the cement cost in the domestic market.
It was expected the US$200 million steel mill would not only bring the 1,600 job opportunities to the country but also ease the steel prices to the market especially its domestic construction cost.
