The export volume of hot-rolled coil reached to a new high level in Turkey steel factories in December 2018. The amount of export totaled around 300,000 tons in January 2019. Although it rose for 30% year-on-year, it was still much lower than 463,000 tons in December 2018.
However, the demand in Europe kept supporting the export of Turkey steel factories, especially Italy. Italy is a main buyer of Turkish hot-rolled coil. In January 2019, the export amount has grown up for 18% year-on-year which was around 94,000 tons, and the amount of export to Bulgaria was around 37,000 tons.
At the same time, the amount of export was around 34,000 tons to Portugal, 18,000 tons to Belgium, 17,000 tons to Spain, and 15,000 tons to Canada. The purchasers of Turkish hot-rolled coil also included the UK, Greece and Romania, with a total of about 28,000 tons.
