Thailand steel manufacturer Millcon Steel said on Monday (March 11th) that they estimated the demand of finished steel product in Thailand will be 18.7-19 million tons in 2019, which increased at least by 7.5% compared with 2018's 17.4 million tons.
Millcon Steel said the reason of demand increasing was contributed to government's investment in infrastructure, investment in real estate, investment in the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC), expansion in auto, machinery and relative industries.
The investment in the EEC had a total amount up to 1.7 trillion baht, which was aimed to develop Eastern Thailand and to become technical and service center, as well as to connect with Southeast Asian countries.
