Findings:
1. The wire rod capacity utilization at 99 Chinese steel mills that
represents 188 production lines was 80.85% in week ending March 14,
2019, down 2.13% from last survey.
2. In terms of production lines, running production lines was 152 out of
total 188, meaning operating rate was 80.85%, down 2.13% from last
survey.
3. In terms of wire rod capacity, running capacity was 106.17 million
tons out of 129.20 million tons, making capacity utilization of 82.17%,
down 2.4% from last period.
4. Wire rod daily production for this week was 271,200 tons, down 9,900
tons from last survey.
