Turkish steel mills aggressively strove on the demand of steel wire rod that was more active than the rebar market. Despite the cost-rising impact of scrap, domestic mills were reluctant to lower their export offers for wire rod. This situation only lasted until early March. At present, they were willing to offer flexible quotes for large quantity orders, so the range of price might be widen.
Though the demand for wire rod was strong in Europe, EU's import quota for Turkish wire rod has been exhausted. According to market news, Turkish steel mills have recently turned to African market.
