In January of 2017, the Russian authorities denounced to the WTO regarding the decision taken by the European Union (EU) on implementing a series of anti-dumping duties on cold-rolled steel products by tariffs from 19.8%-26.2%.
Nonetheless, the WTO denied this Russian petition in that moment, thus recently the Russian government decided to ask the WTO to configure a dispute panel in order to resolve the lawsuit between the EU and Russia.
It was reported that the WTO could refuse this requirement of Russia, but only once. Hence, if the Russian authorities insisted on applying once more for the dispute panel, the WTO must deal with this request.
