29 March witnessed the kickoff of No.3 blast furnace in Zhanjiang Steel Base of Baowu Steel Group, right after the announcement delivered by Mr.Chen Derong, Secretary of Communist Party and Board Chairman with China Baowu Steel Group.
With the remaining facilities after No.1 and No.2 BFs, the mill expands the construction of sintering mill, coking oven, blast furnace, converter, continuous casting, hot rolled plate/coil, cold rolled and auxiliary equipments. It is said that No.3 BF is planned to be ignited in July 2021, with designed 4.02 million tons of hot metal capacity, 3.60 million tons of liquid steel capacity, 4.50 million tons of HR coil capacity and 1.66 million tons of CR coil capacity, which will bring the Zhajiang Steel Base to bear 12.25 million tons of hot metal capacity, 12.528 million tons of liquid steel capacity and 10.81 million tons of steel capacity.
16 suppliers from SMS group GmbH, Primetal, China FirstHeavy Industry Co.,Ltd etc. attended the ceremony.
