I Steel
SteelHome (China) Steel Price Index
(SHCNSI)
was 98.06 points (4,242 yuan) on 2 April 2019, up 0.28% or 13 yuan per
ton from the previous trading day. Steel price in key markets continued
to hike. Details are as below:
Construction steel:
domestic construction steel in 28 markets averaged price hiked by 20-22
yuan/t. 20mm HRB400 rebar averaged at 4030 yuan per ton, up 20 yuan/t
from previous trading day. Price hiked by 10-50 yuan/t in East China,
Central South China, North China, Northeast China, Southwest China and
Northwest China markets.
Medium plate:
20mm Q235B medium plat price averaged at 4066 yuan per ton in 28
domestic markets, up 12 yuan/t from previous trading day. Among them,
price hiked by 10-50 yuan/t in Shanghai, Wuxi, Guanzghou, Nanning,
Beijing, Tianjin, Shijiazhuang, Changchun, Chongqing, Kunming, Guiyang
markets. The rest was stable.
HRC:
Price saw both hike and stability. 5.75mm Q235B HRC average price was
increased by 9 yuan to 3947 yuan per ton in 28 domestic markets. Price
went up by 10-30 yuan/t in East China, Central South China, North China,
Northeast China and Southwest China markets. Price in Northwest China
basically kept stable.
CRC:
average price of 1.0mm SPCC CRC was 4443 yuan per ton in 28 domestic
markets, up 1 yuan/t from previous trading day. Price hiked by 10-20
yuan/t in Shanghai, Lecong and Xi’an markets. The rest was stable.

II Raw Materials
On 2 April, Tangshan common billet price was stabilized at 3450 yuan per
ton, (cash, tax included, ex-works). Spot products in Tangshan billet
market were priced at 3510 yuan per with flat transaction. At present,
workers in downstream plants have active kick-off attitudes and plants
are gradually resumed.
On 2 April, iron ore market saw hike. SteelHome data showed that
China Domestic Iron Ore Price Index (SHCNDOI)
65%
was 743 yuan per ton, down 5 yuan/t and SteelHome Imported Iron Ore
Price Index (SHCNIOI) 62% was 89.01
dollars per ton, up 0.99 dollar/t.
Spot ore transacting price hiked by 5-10 yuan/t at China ports, For
instance, PB fines trading price was 640 yuan per ton at Rizhao port and
PB fines at Tianjin port were traded at 653 yuan per ton with active
transaction atmosphere.
