I Steel
SteelHome (China) Steel Price Index
(SHCNSI)
was 98.37 points (4,255 yuan) on 3 April 2019, up 0.31% or 13 yuan per
ton from the previous trading day. Steel price in key markets continued
to hike. Details are as below:
Construction steel:
domestic construction steel in 28 markets averaged price hiked by 16-20
yuan/t. 20mm HRB400 rebar averaged at 4050 yuan per ton, up 20 yuan/t
from previous trading day. Price hiked by 10-50 yuan/t in East China,
Central South China, North China and West China markets except 30 yuan
reduction in Urumqi market.
Medium plate:
20mm Q235B medium plat price averaged at 4079 yuan per ton in 28
domestic markets, up 13 yuan/t from previous trading day. Among them,
price hiked by 10-50 yuan/t except stability in Fuzhou, Beijing,
Shijiazhuang, Northeast and Northwest China markets.
HRC:
Price saw both hike and stability. 5.75mm Q235B HRC average price was
increased by 15 yuan to 3962 yuan per ton in 28 domestic markets. Price
went up by 10-30 yuan/t in East China, Central South China, North China,
Northeast China and Southwest China markets. Price in Northwest China
basically kept stable.
CRC:
average price of 1.0mm SPCC CRC was 4447 yuan per ton in 28 domestic
markets, up 4 yuan/t from previous trading day. Price hiked by 20-40
yuan/t in Shanghai, Nanjing, Shenyang and Harbin markets against
stability in the rest.

II Raw Materials
On 3 April, Tangshan common billet price was increased by 10 yuan to
3460 yuan per ton, (cash, tax included, ex-works). Spot products in
Tangshan billet market were priced at 3520 yuan per with flat
transaction.
On 3 April, iron ore market saw hike. SteelHome data showed that
China Domestic Iron Ore Price Index (SHCNDOI)
65%
was 743 yuan per ton, unchanged and SteelHome Imported Iron Ore Price
Index (SHCNIOI) 62% was 90.52 dollars per
ton, up 1.51 dollars/t.
Spot ore transacting price hiked by 10 yuan/t at China ports, For
instance, PB fines trading price was 650 yuan per ton at Qingdao port
and PB fines at Tianjin port were traded at 665 yuan per ton with flat
transactions.
Seaborne iron ore markets overall hiked. COREX platform trading price
was 95.6 dollars for 0.17 million tons 62%BRBF fines with laycan during
22 April -1 May 2019.
