Customs
of China released last Friday that China imported 86.424 million tons of
iron ore in March, an increase of 0.644 million tons or up 0.8 percent on
year; it added 3.344 million tons over February inbound shipments. The
average import was 85.7 dollars per ton (CIF, China), a rise of 8.2
dollars than that in Feb.
The
cumulative imports in Jan-Mar totaled 260.789 million tons, a decrement of
9.593 million tons, or down 3.5 percent one year. The average import price
was 79.2 dollars per ton, a rise of 5.4 dollars per ton.
