According to the statistics from Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), Turkey imported around 33,400 tons of billet and bloom in February, down by 4.4% month on month and down 70.8% year on year.
The import value increased by 2.2% month on month to around US$19 million, which dropped by 69.8% year on year.
In the first 2 months in 2019, Turkish billet and bloom imports totaled around 68,000 tons, down by 74.2% year on year. The import value was around US$38 million, down by 73.5% year on year.
Among them, Russia provided the most billet and bloom at about 33,600 tons, down by 70.33% year on year; followed by Georgia with around 19,000 tons, up by 171.36% year on year.
