Russian steelmaker Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works (MMK) announced that its No.1 sintering machine in the No.5 sintering plant has been put into production. This sintering machine has produced the first batch of sintered ore for the blast furnace plant.
MMK Chairman Victor Rashnikov said the new sinter plant used energy-saving and environmentally friendly technologies with an annual production capacity of 5.5 million tons. When the No.5 sinter plant was completed, it could not only reduce the cost of pig iron, but also could supply high quality sinter to the blast furnace production facility.
At present, the main technical equipment plan was installed in the No.2 sintering machine, which was scheduled to be launched in July this year.
