In order to know the composite competitiveness of Chinese steelmakers and enhance the global brand image of Chinese enterprises, SteelHome has been conducting the preparation work of Chinese steelmakers’ composite competitiveness ranking since 2008 and has been collecting the concerned data into SteelHome database. Currently, the database contains 93 steel enterprises’ data.

Taking reference of World Steel Dynamics’ World-class Steelmakers Ranking system and the situation of Chinese companies, SteelHome keeps adjusting and revising ranking system of composite competitiveness. Now, the system contains 19 main indicators and 42 sub-indicators, including operating size, high value-added products, technological innovation, profitability, cost control, mergers & expansion, financial optimization, resources availability, market influence, brand image, risk control, green development and social responsibility etc.

The composite score is gained after weighted calculation. All the indicators are considered on the basis of 2018 performance.
