On May 21, Wuhan Steel Group Kunming Iron and Steel Co., Ltd (hereinafter referred to as Kunming Steel), based in Yunnan Province of China, held a ceremony for site leveling, marking the official beginning of the project.
It is reported that the project is expected to invest over 12 million yuan, with a planned construction period of 2 years. It plans to build one new pellet production line with an annual output of 2.6 million tons, one 450m3 sintering machine, one 2500m3 blast furnace, two 120t basic oxygen furnace, as well as its refining facilities and continuous casting systems. Besides, Kunming steel will relocate and transform for one rolling-casting machine with an annual output of 950,000 tons, one bars production line with an annual output of 800,000 tons, one high speed wire rod production line with an annual output of 550,000 tons, and one high speed wire rod line with an annual output of 450,000 tons.
After the completion of the project, Kunming Steel will form a comprehensive production capacity of 5.4 million tons of steel per year, achieving an annual sales income of more than 20 billion yuan and a profit and tax of more than 2 billion yuan.
