I Steel
SteelHome (China) Steel Price Index
(SHCNSI)
was 99.11 points (4,287 yuan) on 27 May 2019, down 0.14 point (6 yuan)
from the previous trading day. Steel price in key markets aw both
stability and decline. Details are as below:
Construction steel:
20mm HRB400 rebar averaged at 4148 yuan per ton, down 9 yuan/t from
previous trading day. Among them, price declined by 10-60 yuan/t in East
China, Central South China, North China, Northeast China and Southwest
China markets. Price in the rest was stable.
Medium plate:
20mm Q235B medium plat price averaged at 4101 yuan per ton in 28
domestic markets, down 10 yuan/t from previous trading day. Price
decreased by 10-50 yuan/t in East China, Central South China, Northeast
China, Chengdu and Lanzhou markets against stability in North China and
West China markets.
HRC:
Price saw both stability and declined. 5.75mm Q235B HRC average price
was decreased by 6 yuan to 4013 yuan per ton in 28 domestic markets.
Among the whole markets, price was down by 10-50 yuan/t in Nanjing, Wuxi,
Changsha, Tianjin, Chongqing, Chengdu, Lanzhou and Urumqi markets
against stability in the rest.
CRC:
average price of 1.0mm SPCC CRC was 4345 yuan per ton in 28 domestic
markets, down 8 yuan/t from previous trading day. Price was down by
10-40 yuan/t in East China, North China and Northeast China markets,
while price in the Central South China and West China markets was
stable.

II Raw Materials
On 27 May, Tangshan common billet price was up by 10 yuan to 3620 yuan
per ton, (cash, tax included, ex-works). Spot products in Tangshan
billet market were priced at 3700 yuan per with flat transaction.
On 27 May, iron ore market ramped up. SteelHome data showed that
China Domestic Iron Ore Price Index (SHCNDOI)
65%
was 831 yuan per ton, up 36 yuan/t and SteelHome Imported Iron Ore
Price Index (SHCNIOI) 62% was 105.46
dollars per ton, up 3.15 dollars/t from previous day.
Spot ore transacting price hiked by 30 yuan/t at China ports, For
instance, PB fines trading price was 773 yuan per ton at Rizhao port and
PB fines at Tianjin port were traded at 790 yuan per ton with flat
transactions.
Seaborne market overall continues to hike. GlobalORE platform trading
price is 2.35 dollars higher than 62% platts index in June for 0.17
million tons PB fines with laycan during 16-25 June 2019.
