China has been promoting supply-side structure reform and reducing
overcapacity recent years, Since Measures on Capacity Replacement of
Steel Industry issued by Industry and Information Technology Department
on 8 January 2018, steel mills have begun to implement capacity
replacement plan.
According to crude statistics, 16 steel projects have kicked off since
2019 in China, including projects of Zhanjiang Steel and Fujian Minguang
Steel.
