SteelHome (China) Steel Price Index
(SHCNSI)
was 95.73 points (4,141 yuan) on 17 June 2019, down 0.67 point (29 yuan)
from the previous trading day. Steel price in key markets decreased.
Details are as below:
Construction steel:
20mm HRB400 rebar averaged at 3946 yuan per ton, down 52 yuan/t from
previous trading day. Price in East China market saw great drop, among
which, price decreased by 90-100 yuan/t in Beijing, Tianjin and Baotou
markets. Price decreased by 20-70 yuan/t in East China, Central South
China, Northeast China, Southwest China and Borthwest China markets.
Medium plate:
20mm Q235B medium plat price averaged at 3977 yuan per ton in 28
domestic markets, down 22 yuan/t from previous trading day. Price
decreased by 10-40 yuan/t except stability in Nanchang and Kunming
markets.
HRC:
Price saw both hike and drop. 5.75mm Q235B HRC average price was just
decreased by 28 yuan to 3850 yuan per ton in 28 domestic markets. Among
the whole markets, price decreased by 50-70 yuan/t in Changsha,
Shijiazhuang and Tianjin markets and 10-40 yuan/t in others against
stability in Wuhan and Kunming markets.
CRC:
average price of 1.0mm SPCC CRC was 4223 yuan per ton in 28 domestic
markets, down 20 yuan/t from previous trading day. Price decreased by
10-60 yuan/t except stability in Fuzhou, Nanning, Shenyang, Harbin,
Chongqing, Kunming and Lanzhou markets.

II Raw Materials
On 17 June, Tangshan common billet price was decreased by 20 yuan to
3410 yuan per ton, (cash, tax included, ex-works). Spot products in
Tangshan billet market were priced at 3490 yuan per with flat
transaction. Low sentiments cover the market due to stoppage of rolling
mills and slack demand.
On 17 June, iron ore market fluctuated. SteelHome data showed that
China Domestic Iron Ore Price Index (SHCNDOI)
65%
was 861 yuan per ton, up 13 yuan/t and SteelHome Imported Iron Ore
Price Index (SHCNIOI) 62% was 108.29
dollars per ton, down 1.85 dollars/t from previous day.
Spot ore transacting price decreased by 5 yuan/t at China ports, For
instance, PB fines trading price was 810 yuan per ton at Rizhao port and
PB fines at Jingtang port were traded at 815 yuan per ton with flat
transactions.
Seaborne market went weak. COREX platform trading price was 2.1 dollars
higher than average 62%PM index of July for 0.11 million tons Mark Fines
and 3.8 dollars higher than average 62%PM index of July for 0.13 million
tons Yandi Fines with laycan during 6-15 July 2019.
