SteelHome (China) Steel Price Index
(SHCNSI)
was 96.63 points (4,180 yuan) on 24 June 2019, up 1.01 points (44 yuan)
from the previous trading day. Steel price in key markets saw hike.
Details are as below:
Construction steel:
20mm HRB400 rebar averaged at 3991 yuan per ton, up 49 yuan/t from
previous trading day. Price was increased by 20-90 yuan/t in East China,
Central South China, North China and Northeast China markets and hiked
by 10-50 yuan/t in Southwest China and Northwest China markets against
stability in Urumqi market.
Medium plate:
20mm Q235B medium plat price averaged at 3992 yuan per ton in 28
domestic markets, up 23 yuan/t from previous trading day. Price hiked by
10-70 yuan/t except stability in Hefei, Fuzhou, Nanchang, Chongqing,
Chengdu, Kunming, Guiyang, Lanzhou and Urumqi markets.
HRC:
Price headed up. 5.75mm Q235B HRC average price was increased by 53 yuan
to 3887 yuan per ton in 28 domestic markets. Among the whole markets,
except stability in Kunming and Lanzhou markets, price increased by
80-110 yuan/t in Shanghai, Hangzhou, Wuxi, Jinnan, Lecong and
Shijiazhuang markets and hiked by 20-70 yuan/t in the rest markets of
East China, Central South China, North China, Northeast China, Southwest
China and Northwest China.
CRC:
average price of 1.0mm SPCC CRC was 4233 yuan per ton in 28 domestic
markets, up 20 yuan/t from previous trading day. Price respectively
headed up by 80 yuan/t in Tianjin market and 60 yuan/t in Chengdu
market. Price in the rest markets hiked by 10-50 yuan/t against
stability in Nanchang, Beijing, Shijiazhuang, Taiyuan, Kunming, Guiyang,
Xi’an, Lanzhou and Urumqi markets.

II Raw Materials
On 24 June, Tangshan common billet price was increased by 50 yuan to
3580 yuan per ton, (cash, tax included, ex-works). Spot products in
Tangshan billet market were priced at 3660 yuan per with flat
transaction. Most of rolling mills were under production stoppage with
less interest in resources with high offers.
On 24 June, iron ore market saw both hike and decline. SteelHome data
showed that
China Domestic Iron Ore Price Index (SHCNDOI)
65%
was 887 yuan per ton, up 17 yuan/t and SteelHome Imported Iron Ore
Price Index (SHCNIOI) 62% was 115.52
dollars per ton, down 1.47 dollars/t from previous day.
Spot ore transacting price was decreased by 5 yuan/t at China ports, For
instance, PB fines trading price was 845 yuan per ton at Qingdao port
and PB Fines at Tianjin port were traded at 850 yuan per ton with sparse
transactions.
Seaborne market ran weak.
