According to reports, in order to protect European manufacturers from the threat of import surge after the effective closure of the US market, most European Union (EU) countries voted for the revised safeguard measures proposed by the European Commission (EC) and approved the restrictions on steel quotas on Wednesday (September 4th).
The revised measures would restrict all countries from importing hot-rolled flat products over 30% of the import quota in a quarter. It would also expand to have restrictions on more products from developing countries, including some exempted products.
