Shanxi Province aims to resolve excessive coal capacity of 18.95 million tons in 2019, and will shut down 18 coal mines.
It is understood that the 18 coal mines that are about to be closed are distributed in 15 counties of 8 cities in Shanxi Province, and 12 of them are coal mines with an annual capacity of 600,000 tons or less.
Previously, Shanxi Province proposed to achieve the closure of coal mines with an annual production capacity of less than 600,000 tons by the end of 2020; and the production scale of a single coal enterprise should reach 3 million tons per year or more.
From 2016 to 2018, Shanxi has closed 88 coal mines and resolve excessive coal capacity of 88.41 million tons.
