According to the data of the General Administration of Customs, in August 2019, China imported 9.07 million tons of coking coal, up 29.6% on year and 17.3% on month.
In August 2019, the import value reached 1253.652 million dollars, an increase of 14.4% on year. The average unit price of imports was USD 138.22 per ton, down USD11 per ton on month and down USD 17.91 on year.
From January to August, the cumulative import of coking coal was 52.99 million tons, an increase of 19.8% over the same period of last year. The cumulative import value from January to August was 7556.315 million dollars, an increase of 12.7% on year.
In addition, in August 2019, the export volume of coking coal was 90,000 tons, a year-on-year increase of 20.6%; from January to August, the cumulative export volume of coking coal was 1.01 million tons, an increase of 46.2% on year.
