According to the statistics from Ukrainian steelmakers' association Ukrmetallurgprom, Ukraine produced 16.4 tons of crude steel from January to September this year, which was up by 4.1% from the same period a year ago. In September, the total production of crude steel was about 1.76 million tons, decreasing by 9.2% year on year.
Besides, in the first nine months, Ukraine produced approximately 14.1 million tons of steel products and 15.5 million tons of pig iron, increasing by 1.9% and 1.1% year on year respectively. In September, the output of steel products was about 1.58 million tons, and that of pig iron was 1.75 million tons roughly, decreasing by 9.2% and 5.6% year on year respectively.
