Last Friday, Dharmendra Pradhan, Cabinet Minister for Petroleum & Natural Gas and Steel in the Government of India, met with the Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, Chief Minister of Andhra Prades. In the meeting, they discussed the iron ore supply in the Kadapa steel plants.
The Andhra Pradesh government and state-owned mining giant NMDC were about to sign a memorandum of understanding that NMDC to ship iron ore products to a Kadapa steel plant, which was scheduled to be constructed next month.
On July 8, Mr. Jagan announced that a new steel plant would be established in Kadapa, which would begin to construct on December 26 this year. Additionally, the Chief Minister also stated that the new steel plant will be completed within three years and could provide about 20,000 jobs.
