According to Severstal's prediction, Russian domestic steel demand will go up from 41.4 million tons in 2018 to 45.7 million tons in 2023. At that time, the company planned to sell 70% of its products to the domestic market, while in 2018 the figure was 60%.
In 2019, the Russian steel consumption shall increase from 41.4 million tons in the past year to 43.1 million tons, realizing the growth of 4%.
However, in 2020, Russia might consume even more steel, of which the quantity shall be about 43.7 million tons, a 1.5% growth compared with 2019.
Currently, the construction industry remained the largest steel end-user in Russia.
