According to the annual sales performance in 2019 released by Aluminum Corporation of China Limited (Chalco), the firm’s operating income had a year-on-year increase of 5.46%, reaching around RMB 190 billion. The net profit attributable to shareholders was around RMB 850 million, a year-on-year hike 2.38%.
In 2019, Chalco’s operating income of alumina sector had a year-on-year drop of RMB 251 million, which was mainly due to a decrease in alumina prices; that of the primary aluminum sector had a year-on-year decrease of around RMB 4.7 billion, mainly due to a decline in the production and sales of primary aluminum.
However, Chalco’s operating income of the trading sector had a year-on-year increase of roughly RMB 16.67 billion, mainly due to an increase in the trading volume of electrolytic aluminum, alumina, imported coking, and so on.
