Iron ore shipments to China from Australia’s Port Hedland terminal, the
world’s biggest iron ore port, increased by 7% to 46.19 million tons in
June from 43.18 million tons in May, port data showed on Thursday.
Overall iron ore shipments totaled at 51.79 million tons in June, up 8%
from 47.78 million tons in May.
Port Hedland is used by three of Australia's top four iron ore miners,
BHP Billiton, Fortescue Metals Group and Gina Rinehart's Hancock
Prospecting.
