According to statistics, Vietnam's imported iron and steel products reached nearly 6.7 million tons in the first six months of 2020, down by 6.3% compared to the same period last year.
Among them, the imports from China were big declined by 25.5% from a year ago. During the period, Vietnam expanded the exports by about 3.64 million tons to Southeast Asian countries, which rose by 15.6% year on year.
In particular, the export volume to China was 14 times growth to around 1.06 million tons that was increased sharply.
Actually, Vietnam's domestic demand for steel and iron kept strong as benefiting from the government infrastructure projects in the first half of this year.
