India’s coking coal imports totaled 2.12 million metric tonnes (MMT) in July down 56.02% from the 4.83 MMT imported in July 2019. The July import quantity was also lower by 9.08% than the 4.34 MMT imported in June.
PCI imports were 0.84 MMT in July, lower by 21.18% than the 1.07 MMT imported in July last year.
For the Calendar till July 2020 coking coal imports totaled 22.91 MMT down 21.59% from the 29.22 MMT imported in the same period of 2019.
PCI imports for Jan to July were 6.70 MMT down 14.37% from the7.82 MMT imported in the same period the previous year.
