Benchmark 62% iron ore’s spot price dropped to $116.23 a tonne on Wednesday, based on SteelHome consultancy data SteelHome China Iron Ore Price Index (SHCNOI).

Currently, China’s steel destocking activities fall short of expectations which projected bearish outlook among market participants. Therefore, iron ore prices may edge down in the short run.
