It was reported that the Swedish special steel producer, SSAB, intended to acquire the business of Tata Steel IJmuiden in the Netherlands, as a backup plan for a deal with ThyssenKrupp AG. However, Tata Steel’s spokesperson didn't comment on this speculation.
It was understood that SSAB is currently discussing with ThyssenKrupp, about taking over ThyssenKrupp's steel division. However, Liberty Steel Group subsequently also bid for ThyssenKrupp's steel division.
