Turkey imported approximately
16.17 million tonnes of steel scrap during the first nine months of this
year, rising by 15.1% from the same period a year ago, data released by
the Turkish Iron and Steel Producers' Association (TCUD). Among them,
the European Union (EU) countries were the main supplier, with 9.87
million tonnes, up 11.5% y/o/y. In September 2020 alone, the imports
totaled 2.18 million tonnes, up 16% m/o/m.
Meanwhile, the country’s steel
production increased in September, due largely to the well-performed
exports to Southeast China. |
