According to statistics, Vietnam, the largest scrap importer in Southeast Asia, imported 550,000 tons of scrap in October this year, an increase of 17% compared to September and an increase of 22% from the same period last year.
Among them, Japan exported roughly 320,000 tons, a year-on-year increase of 10%. The US and Australia supplied 100,000 tons and 50,000 tons respectively.
In September, affected by the second outbreak of the COVID-19 epidemic in Da Nang, Vietnam, the domestic steel market was severely hit, especially the plate products, which only started to improve in October.
