China Stainless Steel Industry Conference successfully
held in East China’s Wuxi city on Tuesday. The conference was hosted by
SteelHome, with co-hosts Shanghai Futures Exchange, Youfa Group,
Ouyeel, and Shanxi Taigang Stainless Steel Company. Meanwhile,
Special Steel Enterpries Association of China
guided the event, with the sponsorship from Baosteel Desheng Stainless
Steel Company, Foshan Xinzhan, Wuxi Stainless Steel Industry Association
(under establishment), and Jiangsu Dainan Stainless Steel Industry
Association.
Key Insights from the Event
Liu Yanping, Secretary General of Stainless Steel Branch of Special
Steel Enterpries Association of China, reported during the conference.
She considered the output and consumption of stainless steel in China
may edge down in 2022. Affected by the pandemic outbreak, weak macro
economy and tepid demand, China’s stainless steel output may decreased
by around 2.5 million tonnes (-8%). Meanwhile, for the future, she
thought China stainless steel industry may enter into innovations on
processing operations such as RKEF, on new products and on applications.
The industry also efforts on carbon reduction work.
Zhang Junhong, General Manager of Shanghai Liying International Trading,
evaluated the stainless crude steel output in China will reduced by 1.4
million tonnes to 32.3 million tonnes in 2022, and for Indonesia, the
figure will reduce by 110,000 tonnes to 4.9 million tonnes. |
