DCE Metallurgical Coke Delivery
Quality Standard (F/DCE J001-2011)
1. Content and Scope
1.1 The standard herein dictates the
quality requirements, testing methods, inspection guidelines and
transportation requirements for metallurgical coke delivered at the DCE.
1.2 The standard herein refers to metallurgical coke made from coking
coal through high temperature carbonization or other methods and used in
blast furnaces for iron-making.
1.3 The standard herein applies to coke products and substitutes
delivered under this contract.
2. Cited Rules
The provisions of the following rules are
incorporated herein by reference. For those rules noted with dates, their
amendments (excluding corrections) and revised versions may not be applied
to this standard; for those without noted dates, their latest version
shall be applied to this standard.
GB/T 1996 Metallurgical coke
GB/T 1997 Coke – Sampling and preparation of samples
GB/T 2001 Coke – Determination of proximate analysis
GB/T 2005 Metallurgical Coke - Determination of coke breeze content and
size consist
GB/T 2006 Metallurgical Coke - Determination of mechanical strength
GB/T 2286 Coke – Determination of total sulfur
GB/T 4000 Coke - Determination of reactivity and strength after reaction
GB/T 8170 Rules for rounding off of numerical values

4.3 Moisture content Mt ≤ 5.0%; excess
moisture content should be rounded to the nearest tenth decimal place (for
example, if moisture content is 6.32%, excess moisture content should be
rounded from 1.32% to 1.3%).
4.4
For those do not meet coke breeze content requirements when exiting
warehouse, warehouse should compensate the excess coke breeze content
(rounded to the nearest tenth decimal place) calculated by the settlement
price of the nearest contract before the exit day (for example, required
coke breeze content is 7%, if coke breeze content is 8.32%, compensation
is 1.2% of the contract value).
5. Testing methods and inspection
guidelines
5.1 Sampling and preparation of samples are
subject to the standards in GB/T 1997.
5.2 Determination of coke breeze content and size consist is subject to
the standards in GB/T 2005.
5.3 Determination of moisture, ash and volatiles is subject to the
standards in GB/T 2001.
5.4 Determination of total sulfur content is subject to the standards in
GB/T 2286.
5.5 Determination of crushing strength M40 and abrasion resistance M10 is
subject to the standards in GB/T 1996.
5.6 Determination of reactivity and strength after reaction is subject to
the standards in GB/T 4000.
5.7 Rules of rounding off for numerical values and expressions are subject
to the standards in GB/T 9977.
6. Transportation requirements
Coke products should be shipped in clean
