After 8-month effort, Shougang witnesses the qualification of its 10 million tonnage iron ore expansion project in Peru. The success brings Peru iron ore capacity of Shougang to 20+ million tons.
The 10 million tons of expansion project is the first project which has been successfully achieved under One Belt One Road initiative. It is introduced that the project was kicked off in August 2014. And electricity supply and facility construction & installation of original-mine production system were completed in December 2016. The new beneficiation plant of second phase project and desalination plant were completed in July 2018.
As an importance backup of Shougang Group's overseas development strategy, the 10-million-tonnage refined iron ore expansion project of Peru Iron has reached world-class standard. The successful startup of project not only provides sufficient raw materials to Shougang's high quality development, but also enhances the overseas influence of the steel giant.
