I Steel
SteelHome (China) Steel Price Index
(SHCNSI)
was 95.36 points (4,125 yuan) on 18 June 2019, down 0.37 point (16 yuan)
from the previous trading day. Steel price in key markets continued to
fall. Details are as below:
Construction steel:
20mm HRB400 rebar averaged at 3929 yuan per ton, down 17 yuan/t from
previous trading day. Price was decreased by 10-50 yuan/t except
stability in Changsha, Beijing, Harbin, Chongqing, Kunming and Lanzhou
markets.
Medium plate:
20mm Q235B medium plat price averaged at 3969 yuan per ton in 28
domestic markets, down 8 yuan/t from previous trading day. Price
decreased by 10-30 yuan/t in East China, Central South China, North
China and Southwest China markets against stability in Northeast China
and Northwest China markets.
HRC:
Price continued to drop. 5.75mm Q235B HRC average price was just
decreased by 17 yuan to 3833 yuan per ton in 28 domestic markets. Among
the whole markets, price decreased by 10-50 yuan/t in East China,
Central South China, North China, Northeast China, Southwest China and
Northwest China markets.
CRC:
average price of 1.0mm SPCC CRC was 4214 yuan per ton in 28 domestic
markets, down 9 yuan/t from previous trading day. Price decreased by
10-30 yuan/t in East China and Northeast China markets, 10-20 yuan/t in
Central South China, Tianjin and Xi’an markets. The price was stable in
North China, Southwest China and Northwest China markets.

II Raw Materials
On 18 June, Tangshan common billet price was increased by 10 yuan to
3420 yuan per ton, (cash, tax included, ex-works). Spot products in
Tangshan billet market were priced at 3500-3510 yuan per with flat
transaction.
On 18 June, iron ore market declined at the beginning and then hiked.
SteelHome data showed that
China Domestic Iron Ore Price Index (SHCNDOI)
65%
was 861 yuan per ton, unchanged and SteelHome Imported Iron Ore Price
Index (SHCNIOI) 62% was 110.09 dollars per
ton, up 1.8 dollars/t from previous day.
Spot ore transacting price increased by 5-10 yuan/t at China ports, For
instance, PB fines trading price was 815 yuan per ton at Qingdao port
and Jimblebar Fines at Caofeidian port were traded at 800 yuan per ton
with increasing transactions.
Seaborne market overall hiked. GlobalORE platform trading price was 111
dollars/t for 0.08 million tons Newman Fines with laycan during 21-30
July 2019.
